University submission needs urgent attention

With rumours continuing to circulate, indicating that the likely headquarters for a future Technological University of the South East (TUSE) could be in Kilkenny and the new body’s President may come from Carlow IT, immediate action is required by our Government representatives.

€81,760 for Cheekpoint to Passage walk

As an advocate for investment in these walks, I was delighted to have done my bit, through constant lobbying and representations since elected, to ensure delivery of and to welcome the investment of the Outdoor Recreation Measure 2 allocation of €81,760 to Minaun and Whortle Walk. Well done to all involved.

“No 2nd Cath Lab by 2020!” say HSE

On 20th December 2018, the HSE published the “National Service Plan 2019”, with a €16 billion budget. There was no indication of capital funding, for a 2nd Cath Lab at University Hospital Waterford (UHW) in 2019. This implies no delivery by 2020, at the very earliest.

Festival and Event funding announced

Waterford Council has allocated €1,286,458 in festival and event funding to aid with the development and promotion of events in Waterford City & County during 2019.
